2015 A year of Promise
“And He brought him outside (his tent into the starlight) and said, Look now toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to number them. Then He said to him(Abram), "So shall your descendants be". Gen 15:5
These words stirred strongly in my heart one night as I stood looking up to the brightest and biggest and closest stars I had ever seen in the night sky.
As I stood out under the stars that evening I knew The Lord was saying to me, “All the promises I have given will be fulfilled.” All that God Himself has declared from the heavens over Aglow will be seen in the earth.
In 2015 we have an increased sense of assurance of God holding us and continuing to make the way despite the unprecedented challenges of the times facing us all. In every circumstance, God is calling us to hear His voice, walk knowing His promises to us individually and corporately and to the obstacles that seek to limit and hold us back, we stand declaring God’s Word and His promise.
2015 is a year of fulfilment of promises as we celebrate 40 years of Aglow in Australia. As Jane made reference to in a recent blog “40 is a significant number in the bible and is associated with a period of trial, probation and testing “. For the children of Israel after the 40 years in the desert they entered into the Promised Land and for Jesus after 40 days in the desert and the temptations of the devil He began His ministry on earth that brought the Kingdom of God from heaven to earth.
Graham Cooke has frequently delivered prophetically to Aglow worldwide -
“We have passed our tests, we have an open heaven over us to walk out our identity as an apostolic and prophetic people! We are not here to do what we have done in the past but we are to take new territory and be the radiant expression of Jesus in the earth carrying His beauty, favour and goodness wherever we go”.
This has been happening in many areas across the nation. In Victoria women and men gather monthly and travel to varying locations declaring the word of The Lord in that region following the promptings of the Holy Spirit in worship, prayer, prophetic acts and connecting with local people.
In WA, teams have gone to country areas encouraging and speaking the word of the Lord into local women who often feel isolated and by-passed. The joy on the faces of these women as the Holy Spirit touches and fills them afresh tells the story.
In NSW a team of prayers go weekly to worship and pray the Kingdom of God to be established in a key inner city location bringing salvation, restoration and transformation.
In Queensland one group of Aglow men and women are building on relationships established in the floods several years ago and are impacting further lives as they go “into the highways and byways” doing good in their community.
"For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding "Yes!" And through Christ, our Amen (which means Yes!) ascends to God for His glory.
It is God Who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first instalment that guarantees everything He has promised." 2Cor 1: 20-22”
It is His promise, it is His word and it is His faithfulness that sustains and carries us forward and it is our "Yes /Amen" in Him and through Him and to Him that says we believe!
